A Note from Raghu Nambiath

It has been an honor and privilege serving Malayalee community in Washington DC area as President of KAGW during 2016.

Thanks to sponsors and members for supporting KAGW while sailing with us during this journey. Together we were able to organize more than twenty events or activities translating to approximately one event every two weeks. This includes six major events including Pioneers Social Gala,Onam, Talent Time, Eid Ul Fitr,Keralotsavam and Rock N Jingles.

During 2016 we had opportunity to partner with American University & Smithsonian's museum of Asian arts and Embassy of India while screening of multiple movies directed by none other than Mr Adoor Gopalakrishnan. Event is yet another step from KAGW for its committment towards broader outreach.

There were multiple new initiatives from KAGW team during this year including: Eid ul Fitr, Checkmate and Tennis Tournament. Talent Time for first time this year was extended to a three day event with yet another year of record participation. In addition we were able to introduce priority and reserved seating for life members and senior citizens. My sincere thanks to all members and volunteers from KAGW Team 2016 for their commitment and various initiatives thrughout the year.

During this year we also had opportunity to work closely with KAGW, KCSMW and Kairali. My heartfelt thanks to leadership and team members from KAGW,KCSMW and Kairali while working beyond organizational boundaries towards Keralotsavam kickoff event, triggering start of Shashtipoorthi celebration of Kerala.

Finally the year ended up with a memorable Rock N Roll event jointly organized by KAGW and KCSMW. Would like to appreciate team for realizing a memorable event with excellent participation.

During 2016, events and activities helped us realize and contribute towards broader goal of enabling a fun, social and a vibrant environment for Washington DC Malayalee community.

Please do continue your outpour of support.
